Kenya Arrests Man for 'Suspected Terrorist Activities' - 2003-06-29

Authorities in Kenya have arrested a Kenyan-born Pakistani for what they called suspected terrorist activities.

Police say the man was arrested on Saturday in the northeastern town of Garissa, where he had been teaching at an Islamic school called Young Muslim Association.

They say they plan to transfer the man to Nairobi. Police added that the suspect had undergone military training in Pakistan, but gave no other details.

Earlier this week, Kenya charged four of its citizens with murder in connection with last years Mombasa bombing. Suicide bombers killed 16 people in that attack.
