Coal Mining Explosion Kills 22 in China's Inner Mongolia Region

A coal mining explosion in northeastern China has killed 22 people and injured six others.

Another 15 miners who were in the pit were rescued uninjured after Friday's blast at the Yakeshi mine in the Inner Mongolian region.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.

China's coal mining industry is the world's deadliest. Explosions, floods and other accidents killed more than 5,000 miners last year.
