An attack in Baghdad has claimed the life of another U.S. soldier, bringing the total number of troops killed since the start of the war to 149.
U.S. troops guarding a bank in Baghdad came under attack from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday.
One U.S. soldier from the 1st Armored Division was gravely injured in the attack and was rushed to a nearby medical facility where he later died.
The incident came just hours after another attack on members of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division in Muqdadiya, about 100 kilometers northeast of Baghdad, Friday.
Military officials say the attack also involved small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades, and left one soldier wounded. Three vehicles sustained minor damage.
