Thousands Protest in Europe to Demand Pullout from Iraq - 2003-09-27

More than 10,000 anti-war demonstrators have taken to the streets of London to protest the occupation of Iraq by coalition troops.

The demonstrators chanted "No More War." They also called for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair's popularity has plummeted in the aftermath of the Iraq conflict. He is facing his worst political crisis in six years in office over the failure of coalition troops to find Iraqi weapons of mass destruction - a main justification for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein.

Smaller anti-war protests were also held Saturday in France, Greece, South Korea and Turkey. At least 3,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Paris.
