Though top-ranked Oklahoma and number-two Miami were idle this week, there were a lot of changes in the latest USA Today/ESPN college football coaches poll.
Southern California dropped seven spots and Nebraska and Arkansas moved into the top 10 in the latest rankings. USC had started the season with three wins and was in third place, but their 34-31 triple overtime loss to California dropped the Trojans to number 10.
Ohio State is third followed by Virginia Tech, Florida State, Louisiana State and Tennessee, with all five teams moving up a spot in the poll after USC's loss. Nebraska rolled to a 38-14 victory over Southern Mississippi on Thursday night and moved up three places to eighth, while Arkansas rallied for a 34-31 double overtime win over Alabama and rose five spots to number nine.
