Athens' Olympic organizers open another round of ticket sales Wednesday with first-time buyers able to purchase the coveted passes for next year's Games.
Ticket orders will be taken through the end of February and any remaining passes will be sold from April through the Games, which get underway August 13.
Some of the venues are still under construction, so seat allocation is not expected to start until March. Tickets to the opening ceremony are sold out.
Nearly 1.7 million tickets out of the three million available for the general public have been sold. Another 2.3 million tickets have been reserved for the Olympic sponsors or for International Olympic Committee officials.
European Union citizens can purchase tickets on the Internet. Otherwise the passes are available through national Olympic committees.
