Left-arm seam bowler Chaminda Vaas snared three wickets for Sri Lanka's cricket team, as they claimed a thrilling one-run victory over Australia in their second one-day international in Dambulla.
Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka was all out for 245 in the final over before restricting Australia to 244 for five in its 50 overs. The victory tied the best-of-five series at 1-1. The next three matches of the five-match limited-overs series will be played in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo.
Meanwhile in Harare, Zimbabwean bowler Andy Blignaut took three wickets to put Bangladesh on the brink of defeat on the fourth day of their first Test. Bangladesh was already facing the mammoth task of trying to reach 353 runs for victory, after Zimbabwe declared their second innings closed on 242-for-eight.
Bangladesh can now try to salve its pride with a good performance on Monday's final day, then re-group for the second and last Test in Bulawayo beginning Thursday.
