Former President Bill Clinton has been released from a New York City hospital, four days after undergoing successful heart bypass surgery.
A Clinton spokesman said the 58-year-old former president was in good spirits when he arrived Friday evening at his home outside New York City.
Bypass surgery is a procedure in which surgeons reroute blood flow to the heart to relieve chest pain and decrease the risk of a heart attack
Mr. Clinton's doctors at New York Presbyterian Hospital said his arteries were so clogged, he probably would have suffered a major heart attack in the near future without the surgery.
