Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has called for an international conference to help find an integrated solution to terrorism.
In Rome Monday, Mr. Mubarak said the conference should look at the causes of terrorism, as well as find ways to make tolerance and dialogue prevail over violence.
The Egyptian president is in Italy for two days of talks on Iraq, the Middle East peace process and terrorism. He is scheduled to meet with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Tuesday.
His visit comes just days after 34 people were killed and more than 100 injured by bombings in the Egyptian Red Sea resorts of Taba and Ras Shitan.
After leaving Italy, Mr. Mubarak will meet with French President Jacques Chirac in Paris on Wednesday.
