It will be an all-Russian women's final at the Kremlin Cup tennis tournament in Moscow. Defending champion and reigning French Open winner Anastasia Myskina upended second-seeded American Lindsay Davenport on Saturday in straight sets 6-4, 7-6.
Myskina will meet Elena Dementieva, who defeated compatriot Elena Bovina, 6-4, 7-5, in a match that saw eight service breaks.
The loss will not prevent Davenport from taking over the number one position in the WTA rankings. She will replace France's Amelie Mauresmo, who skipped the Kremlin Cup due to a thigh strain.
