Tennis: Agassi Reaches US Men's Clay Court Championship Quarterfinals

Second-seeded Andre Agassi has reached the quarterfinals of the U.S. Men's Clay Court Tennis Championships in Houston.

Agassi lost the first set to Spaniard Alex Calatrava, 6-3, but rallied to win the next two and the match Thursday night, 6-4, 7-5. The second-seeded American will next face Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean who beat Oscar Hernandez of Spain, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.

Defending champion Tommy Haas of Germany will play Jurgen Melzer of Austria and top-seeded Andy Roddick of the United States will meet Luis Horna of Peru in other Friday quarterfinals matches.

In a second-round match Thursday night, American James Blake fell behind 2-4 in the opening set and then won 10 of 11 games to oust Antony Dupuis of France, 6-4, 6-1. Blake will meet Nicolas Lapentti of Ecuador in the quarterfinals.
