Cricket: Ashes Test Match Series Tied 1-1

Australia's cricket team has scored 99-5 in reply to England's first innings score of 477 on the second day of the fourth Ashes test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, England.

The Aussies need 179 more runs to avoid the follow on. Simon Katich was 20 not out while Michael Clarke was the top Australian scorer with 36 runs before being called out leg before wicket on the last ball of the day.

English bowler Matthew Hoggard took three Australian wickets while allowing 32 runs. Steve Harmison and Simon Jones took one wicket each. Andrew Flintoff was England's high scorer in its first innings, getting his first test century against Australia with 102 runs. At one point, he struck four boundaries in six deliveries.

The five-match series is tied 1-1 after Australia won the first test and England took the second match. The third test was a draw. Australia has won eight consecutive Ashes series dating back to 1989.
