The hosts opened the scoring in the fourth minute when defender Choi Jin-cheul headed a free kick into the net. Lee Dong-gook sealed the South Korean win with a goal in the 66th minute.
Elsewhere Wednesday, Japan edged Angola 1-0 on a last-minute header by substitute Daisuke Matsui in a friendly held in Tokyo. Angola will make its World Cup debut next year, while Japan has also qualified.
China broke its losing streak against European teams with a scoreless draw against Bulgaria in Changsha. China went into the match coming off a 2-0 loss to Serbia and Montenegro Sunday, and was also scoreless in previous losses this year to Ireland, Spain and Germany.
