Officials in Guatemala say 21 people have been killed and at least 13 others injured after two buses collided on a mountain highway late Friday.
Authorities say the crash occurred on a two-lane road about 175 kilometers from the capital, Guatemala City.
They say a bus carrying an evangelical church group was headed down a steep section of road when it lost control and slammed into a second bus coming from the opposite direction. The first bus went off the road and down a steep ravine.
Rescue workers say 18 people were found dead in the ravine and three others from the first bus died en route to the hospital. The say no one was killed on the second bus, which had been ascending the hill.
