Palestinians in the West Bank say Israeli troops have shot and killed a 12-year-old boy in the town of Jenin.
Unconfirmed reports say the boy was shot during a confrontation between Israeli troops and Palestinian protesters at a refugee camp.
Israeli forces have been in Jenin and other parts of the northern West Bank for several days. They say their operation is aimed at rounding up militants in the area.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, Palestinian gunmen shot and wounded an Israeli security guard overnight near a Jewish settlement outside the city of Ramallah.
