US Women's Soccer Team Held to Scoreless Draw by France

The U.S. women's soccer team was held to a scoreless draw by France at the Four Nation's Cup in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

France's midfield caused problems for the American attack all day, with the U.S. women seriously threatening only once in the first half when Abby Wambach missed a header from close range in the 22nd minute.

The Americans had a few good chances to score in the second half but could not find the net. Captain Kristine Lilly, playing in her record 301st international match, hit the crossbar in the 82nd minute.

In the other match Friday, host China beat Norway, 3-1. That is the same score by which the United States had beaten Norway on Wednesday. China and France had played to a 1-1 draw in their opener.

China, which hosts the 2007 Women's World Cup, will meet the U.S. Sunday, and Norway will play France.
