Bieber Perfume a Best Seller

Less than one month ago, Justin Bieber launched his women’s perfume, “Someday.” According to Macy’s, it’s already become the biggest-selling celebrity fragrance in the department store’s history. Bieber is donating proceeds from sales of “Someday” to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Pencils of Promise. “I’m excited and humbled at the news about ‘Someday.’ It means a lot to me that my fans are there to support," says the 17-year-old pop star. "And the best part for me is that my favorite charities are going to share in the success. It is important to pay it forward.”

14-year-old YouTube sensation Rebecca Black will release her new single, “My Moment” on July 19. It follows her viral music video, “Friday.” “Friday” was viewed 167 million times to become the most played clip in YouTube’s history. Black is working on a five-song EP, which she plans to release herself in August.

Christie’s auction house in New York is putting 50 photographs of the Beatles’ first U.S. concert and press conference up for sale," on July 20. They belonged to Mike Mitchell, who was 18 when he took the pictures at the Baltimore Civic Center on September 3, 1964.

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced on July 14. Glee leads the music-based nominees with 12 mentions, followed by American Idol, which received 10. Other multiple nominees include So You Think You Can Dance, which received eight nods, The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards and Lady Gaga’s HBO special, Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden, with five nominations apiece. The Emmy Awards will be handed out on September 18 in Los Angeles.

Adele's 21 Reaches New Highs

As predicted, British pop singer Adele’s 21 has become the second album to sell one million digital copies in the United States. Last week’s 25,000 downloads brings her total to 1,017,000. That surpassed the 1,005,000 digital sales of Eminem’s “Recovery.” Adding in the physical sales of “21” gives Adele the top-selling album of 2011 to-date. Its total sales stand at 2.6 million copies in the U.S.

Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts and the Zac Brown Band will headline the 2011 Wisconsin Country Thunder festival. The four-day event begins on July 21 in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Also appearing at the festival are Darius Rucker, the Charlie Daniels Band, Josh Turner, Sara Evans and Edens Edge, among others.

Country legend Dolly Parton kicked off a 45-date tour in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 17. After wrapping up U.S. concerts on August 3, Dolly will head to Europe, where she’ll perform shows through September 15. In November, Dolly will play nine dates in Australia. The tour is supporting her new album, Better Day.

Classic rock groups Foreigner and Journey are performing a national tour together for the first time in 10 years. The 46-city trek begins on July 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah and wraps up on October 21 in Seattle, Washington.

Pop singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw begins a North American tour with Maroon 5 and Train on July 22. They’ll stop in nearly 30 cities through August 26. DeGraw’s new album, Sweeter, is scheduled to drop on August 9.
