Car Bombs, Shootings Kill 26 in Iraq

Car bombs and shootings killed at least 26 people in Iraq Wednesday as tensions between Sunnis and Shi'ites continue to flare.

The two deadliest attacks Wednesday came in Baghdad, where a car bomb killed 16 and wounded at least 38, including members of a wedding party. Two other bombs blew up near a market, killing at least nine.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Violence has killed hundreds in Iraq this month, resisting fears in the United Nations that the country may be slipping towards civil war.

Iraq's Sunni minority is accusing the Shi'ite-led government of marginalizing them, ignoring their concerns, and targeting Sunnis for arrest.
