Official: US Voting System Resilient to Cyberattacks

Amid concerns that foreign adversaries, most prominently Russia, may attempt to use vulnerabilities in the U.S. electronic voting system to influence the outcome of the presidential elections, U.S. government officials sought to reassure the public that the system is resilient and that the threat is not serious. Speaking at a conference on cybersecurity Thursday in Washington, Homeland Security and counterterrorism official, Lisa Monaco, said the government is offering expertise and resources to bolster defenses of the voting machines.
