Five-Year Anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution

On January 25, 2011, protesters in Egypt began a series of demonstrations, marches and the occupation of public spaces to protest the government of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Seventeen days later, Mubarak resigned and power was turned over to the military.
