Even in Sleep, Syrian Refugee Children Reveal Trauma of War

Two million Syrian children have been forced to flee their homes during the brutal five-year-old Syrian war. Some sleep on top of broken down cardboard boxes on a city street or in a field wrapped in dirty blankets on the ground. Swedish photographer Magnus Wennman captured the moving images of sleeping children as he visited refugee camps and journeyed with refugees who were seeking a safe haven in the Middle East and Europe. Even asleep, the children reveal the trauma of war.
