New Jersey Court: Same-Sex Marriage Can Begin Monday

The highest court in New Jersey has ruled that same-sex couples can marry in the state starting Monday.

The high court upheld a lower court ruling allowing gay marriage, denying a delay sought by Governor Chris Christie while the state's appeal of that ruling proceeds.

Christie's offices says the governor will comply with the court's decision, though he disagrees with it.

New Jersey will become the 14th state to allow same-sex marriage.

Some local jurisdictions in New Jersey are already allowing same-sex couples to apply for marriage licenses since there is a 72 hour waiting period before a wedding can take place.
