Nearly a dozen people have been killed in a series of violent attacks in southwestern Pakistan's volatile Baluchistan province.
Gunmen opened fire on a bus, killing eight Shi'ite Muslims from the ethnic Hazara minority community Thursday in the provincial capital Quetta.
Police say four assailants on motorcycles targeted the men, who were coming from a vegetable market in Quetta.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but deadly violence against the Hazara is frequent in the country.
Later in the city, a suicide bomber detonated explosives near a bullet proof car carrying Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of the Taliban-linked Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam religious party, as he left a rally.
Rehman survived the attack, but police say at least one person was killed and several others were injured.
