Turkish Newspaper Editor Speaks Out Ahead of Press Freedom Trial


There is growing concern about media freedom in Turkey. National and international attention is now focused on the case of Erdem Gul and Can Dundar of Turkey’s Cumhuriyet newspaper.  The journalists face two consecutive life sentences plus 30 years behind bars for publishing a story accusing the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of being behind arms shipments to Syrian jihadists.
