United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has warned North Korea to rein in its nuclear threats, saying any miscalculation or misjudgment in the faceoff with Seoul and Washington could have grave consequences. Mr. Ban spoke Thursday in Madrid.
"Nuclear threats [are] not a game, it's very serious ....I think they [North Korean leaders] have gone too far in their rhetoric, and I am concerned that if by any misjudgment, by any miscalculations....this will have very serious implications."
Mr. Ban, who once served as South Korea's foreign minister, also voiced regret over Pyongyang's move earlier this week to block South Korean workers from entering a joint North-South operated industrial center.
The Kaesong industrial zone, about 10 kilometers inside North Korea, is an important source of income for cash-strapped Pyongyang.
More than 600 South Koreans spent the night at the Kaesong industrial complex, after about 200 returned home Thursday. Six Chinese nationals are also stranded there.
