Health Reporting Workshop
Abuja, Nigeria
November 29-December 2, 2005
“Reporting Anti-Microbial Resistance: Impact on HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria and the Health of Nigerians,” was the title of a seminar for 18 journalists from print, radio and television outlets across Nigeria.
The workshop focused on the growing problem of resistance of drugs to various diseases. It examined the role that substandard and counterfeit drugs play in the problem.
Speakers included Dr. Ken Iregbu of the National Hospital of Abuja and Olayide Ayatunde of Journalists Against AIDS.
USAID funded the program, which coincided with the opening of the VOA Abuja Reporting Center.
