Barbara Downgraded to Tropical Depression, Kills 2 in Mexico

Hurricane Barbara made landfall Wednesday in Mexico, killing two people before being downgraded to a tropical depression as it whirled toward the Gulf of Mexico.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center lifted warnings due to the drop in wind speed.

Barbara came ashore on Mexico's southern Pacific Coast near Mexico's biggest oil refinery. The storm flooded roads, and toppled trees.
