VOA Asia Photo Contest

English to Asia Photo Contest Winner

The English to Asia Service held a photo contest in February, asking radio listeners to send in their personal photographs depicting the character of the place where they live.

More than 430 photos were sent in from Asia and Asians abroad answered our call for pictures “depicting the spirit of the place where you live.”

"The photos were of amazing quality, some were funny, some were sad. Some sent pictures of people, some of places and landmarks. Others chose to simply show us the scenes of daily life," said English to Asia Managing Editor Terry Wing.

The number and the high quality of the photos made our jobs as judges very difficult. In the end, we had to some very hard choices.

Thanks to everyone who participated and shared a glimpse of their world.

Listen to English to Asia's Jim Stevenson, Terry Wing and Colin Lovett discuss the contest:
