Muslim Brotherhood Supporters, Police, Clash in Cairo

Supporters of Egypt's outlawed Muslim Brotherhood have clashed with security forces at a Cairo university.

State media reports say one student was shot and killed during the Saturday clashes at Al-Azhar University. Dozens of protesters were arrested.

Officials say protesters set fire to a building and threw rocks at security forces, who responded with tear gas. The violence erupted as students were trying to take exams.

The incident comes a day after five people were killed in protests across Egypt and several hundred arrested.

Many of the demonstrators who took to the streets were answering a call from the Muslim Brotherhood to protest a government decision labeling the group a terrorist organization.

On Thursday, the Interior Ministry said Muslim Brotherhood supporters could face five-year prison sentences.

Earlier this week, Egypt's interim government suggested the Muslim Brotherhood, the group of deposed President Mohamed Morsi, was behind an attacked that killed at least 15 people in the Nile Delta region.
