Bomb Kills at Least 12 Civilians in Eastern Afghanistan


Afghan officials say 12 people have been killed in a roadside bombing in the east of the country.

A government spokesman said the blast took place early Saturday when the civilian victims, including seven women, were traveling in two cars in the Giro district of eastern Ghazni province.

No one has taken responsibility for the attack.

Roadside bombs are a major threat to security forces and civilians across Afghanistan.
