International Republican Institute (IRI) had set up its office in 2003 in Dhaka. From then IRI is giving training, organizing training and doing other projects for strengthening democracy in Bangladesh.

IRI will organize a youth festival on 1st and 2nd of April in Dhaka where about 11 thousand young citizens will be attending.

This report is based on an interview with Jeffery Vannes, IRI resident country director in Bangladesh. He said that now one third of the voters of Bangladesh are young and they will be exercising their right for the first time in the next general election.
