Mr Nirupam Sen is the second in command in the West Bengal administration and the Industries Minister of the government of West Bengal.

In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Mr Sen interview describes the outline of the leftist government's policy towards the industrialization of the state. He particularly points out the fields of iron and steel, petrochemicals, auto and ship manufacturing industries , food packaging and other agro industries which are the current targets.

He admitted that the government has learn a lesson from the events of Nandigram and Singur.
