Jamil Ahmed, the coordinator of the Civil Society Outreach program of CARE Bangladesh recently came to join a work week program of CARE in Atlanta.

In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Jamil Ahmed talks about the program in Atlanta as well as about the activities of CARE. He says that CARE is the oldest NGO in Bangladesh and over the last more than half a century of its existence in Bangladesh , CARE has changed its role from being merely an organization for relief and rehabilitation to its interactive role where it has involved the civil society and people who matter for laying down the policies.

Jamil Ahmed , who is also a national English newsreader on BTV , said that his direct association with media has helped him outreach the media personalities and get them involved in the activities of CARE. He says that the work week program in Atlanta has helped him know the activities of CARE in many other countries of the world.
