Khaled Shams, after retiring from civil service joined Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. He has been completely involved with various branches of Grameen projects .

In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Khaled Shams, now a deputy managing director of Grameen Bank, talks at length about Grameen Bank and how he saw its evolving relationship. He says that Professor Yunus wanted to look at various sectors of rural economy and try and find out whether he could uplift the lives of the poor in these sectors through professional business. Khaled Shams was involved in these remarkable endeavors. He talks about grameen fabrics and grameen projects on fisheries too. Khaled Shams terms the spread of telecom -technology through Grameen phone as a silent revolution.

 Khaled Shams also talks about a non profit US organization called Grameen Foundation. He attended the board meeting of the foundation at Seattle, Washington.
