Abed Khan is a prominent journalist and an Editor of  Bengali daily Shamokal in Bangladesh. In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla he says that although the speech of the Head of the caretaker government has been able to show some part of the road map when he commits that the election would be held in the third week of December, it fails to meet the expectations of popular demands.

He says that the government should lift emergency, a demand raised by all quarters including Bangladesh Election Commission  and Us and EU delegates.

He is also skeptical about the possibility of success in the political dialogue with the precondition of chalking out a national charter which is merely to bring in a balance of power in the government. Finally he says if the government remains determined to hold elections come what the outcome of the dialogue may be, then it will be useful.
