Pakistani officials say suspected Taliban militants have freed Pakistan's ambassador to Afghanistan, after holding him for more than three months.
The officials say Tariq Azizuddin was released unharmed on Saturday but declined to discuss the circumstances of his release.
Azizuddin, his driver and his bodyguard were kidnapped in February in Pakistan's Khyber tribal region bordering Afghanistan, a day after authorities announced the arrest of a key Taliban commander, Mullah Mansoor Dadullah.
Pakistani security officials have said the men were kidnapped by a local tribal group and later turned over to Taliban commander Baitulllah Mehsud in south Waziristan.
Four weeks ago, Azizuddin appeared in a video on an Arabic-language television channel (Al-Arabiya television) saying he had been kidnapped by Taliban militants.
Local media reported the kidnappers had demanded the release of an unspecified number of their colleagues arrested by Pakistani security forces.
