In order to avoid disruptions on road links between Sikkim and West Bengal, the government in Sikkim has decided to build a new road link by by-passing the main route which goes through the hill regions in Darjeeling. The continuous strike in Darjeeling has been badly affecting  Sikkim .


This new road will be constructed in the plain land through foreign aid. The  money spent would be collected through tolls. In the meantime the strike in Darjeeling region has been suspended for sometime
