Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya is the Permanent Representative at the Bangladesh Mission in Geneva.  

Dr Bhattacharya who is a widely known economist in Bangladesh, was a member of the Consultative Committee on Macro-economic Policy Advisory Committee, Ministry of Finance; Banking Sector Reform Committee; Advisory Committee of the Securities and Exchange Commission; Panel of Economists  and in many other economic forums at home and abroad.

 
Besides Debapriya Bhattacharya  undertook assignments for a number of international organisations including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, UNEP, UNIDO, UNCTAD, ILO as well as bilateral development agencies from the USA, Japan, UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden.

In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Debapriya Bhattacharya talks about the price hike and inflation in Bangladesh. He also reflects on World Economy and WTO with which he has been closely associated.
