This week in our weekly call-in sho , Hello Washington ,
in answer to questions from our listeners our panelists talked about the impact
of climate change both in global and in regional perspectives
Experts have been
warning about the negative impact of climate change on topography , agriculture
, health and economy. United Nations has discussed this issue at length and
very recently the issue of climate change dominated in Sweden during the World
Water week .
Climate is the primary determinant of agricultural
product, for food and fiber alike . Any change in climate will bring in change
in food security throughout the world, including South Asia. Our panelists also
discussed its impact on sea level and the fear of cultivable land getting
inundated.
The panelists included Dr Abdul Momen Permanent
Representative for Bangladesh at the United Nations, Dr A Atiq Rahman,
Executive Director of Bangladesh Center for Advanced Studies andMr Subhas Dutta , an Environment activist
from West Bengal
