Bangladesh Airlines Pilots' Association (BAPA) President Capt SM Helal said at a press conference that Bangladesh's own aircraft will not be able to fly to New York since the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has placed CAAB into Category 2 from 1. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has to upgrade itself to category one from two. He said that Biman, may also shrink if CAAB, the regulatory body on aviation-related activities, fails to upgrade its category within a specific time frame.
