A court in Jessore, Bangladesh sentenced a cartoonist to two months of rigorous imprisonment for "hurting the religious feelings of the Muslim community".

The Judge sentenced and fined Arifur Rahman of the now-defunct satire magazine 'Alpin'.

Alpin is a weekly of Bengali newspaper Prothom Alo.
