Bangladesh making contingency plan for Bangladeshis in Iraq

Bangladesh government is constantly monitoring the developments in Iraq. It is in the process of making a contingency plan for the evacuation of Bangladeshis living in Iraq in case there is a war. Foreign Secretary Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury also said that war is not necessarily the best solution to the Iraq issue.

Meanwhile, US Ambassador Mary Ann Peters said that the recent US decision will not have adversely affect relations between the two countries, particularly in the fields of trade and investment. She described Bangladesh as a moderate Muslim democratic country.
