Suicide bombers in Jordan have killed at least 57 people and injured more than 100 others in nearly simultaneous attacks at three Western hotels in the capital, Amman.

Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher said most of the victims were Jordanians -- many of whom were attending a wedding party at the Radisson hotel. The other bombings took place at the Grand Hyatt hotel and the Days Inn hotel.

Police said witnesses at the Grand Hyatt reported that the bomber there spoke with an Iraqi accent. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks. But Jordanian officials said a likely suspect was Jordanian-born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq.

In a statement, Jordan's King Abdullah condemned the attacks, saying they were carried out by what he called a "misled and misleading group." Officials have sealed Jordan's land borders, and said all government offices and public institutions will be closed today.
