Nazli Kibria , the Associate Professor of Sociology from Boston University will be presenting a research paper titled The Assassination of my Father in Bangladesh : Moral Shocks, Activism & Sociological Writing in a seminar at Watson Institute of International Studies in Brown University.

 Nazli Kibria,  the daughter of the former Finance Minister SAMS Kibria, in an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service talks about the recent trends in Bangladesh’s violent and volatile politics.  Mr Kibria was killed when a grenade was thrown at him after a public meeting.  Nazli mentions the sociological changes and the growth of religious fundamentalism in Bangladesh. She says that the perpetrators of the crime that was committed on her father and other people were never punished.
