Maliha Chowdhury Anchal,  a  Singer of Nazrul’s Song  talks to VOA

Maliha Chowdhury Anchal has been singing Nazrul Geeti for quite a while. She says that she has been interested in music , particularly the Indian classical songs .

In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Anchal says that although there are varieties of Nazrul Songs but a strong of basis of Nazrul’s song is the Indian Classical music. She also says that there is a good scope for displaying the classical strain in Nazrul’s songs. Anchal says that although she sings other songs to but she is always at ease singing Nazrul’s songs. Answering to a question on how she stepped into the world of music, Maliha Chowdhury Anchal says that they come from a family which takes keen interests in cultural activities. She had had her institutional training on music from Nazrul Academy in Dhaka. She says that the cultural atmosphere in which she was brought in was a source of inspiration for her.
