SETU is a widely known NGO in Kushtia , a northern District in Bangladesh. It works essentially as a human resources development organization .

Its mission is to implement different development programs which are socially sound, economically compatible and environmentally sustainable through peoples’ participatory process.

In an exclusive interview with VOA, M A Quader, the Executive Director of SETU said that it started back in 1983 since then they began organizing the poor people, tried to assure that government resources are accessible to them , helped in their education , prepare an opportunity for health services .

They essentially began their work at village level in Kushtia but now they have gone across the boundary of Kushtia. He also added that the major difference between his NGO and other NGOs in Bangladesh lies in the fact that SETU does not depend on foreign donors and SETU works more on motivational level, educating people and creating awareness amongst them.
