The interim caretaker government is trying hard to control the spiraling price hike in Bangladesh. On the one hand they have withdrawn the excise duty on import and on the other, they are selling essential food stuffs through fair price shops.

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) who had been conducting these fair price shops have now asked the government to import and market goods. This was discussed on Saturday in a meeting of the Advisory Council.

The Director General of BDR officially placed this proposal in the meeting. The government is actively reviewing this proposal. In the meantime, the Army Chief General Moin U Ahmed had said that the price hike is the worst enemy of the present government.
