Dance program in Bangladesh embassy.

A colorful program , on the occasion of Bangla New Year , was organized by the embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC .

The program was held in the embassy auditorium . Besides presentations of songs , dances and recitation , the added attractions were Bengali cuisine, including delicious pithas.

The cultural part of the program was presented by local Bangladeshis as well as by some of the family members of the embassy officers and staff. Ambassador Humayun Kabir , while welcoming the audience wished every one a very happy Bangla New Year .

 Ambassador Kabir also said that Bangla New Year is not only confined within Bangladesh, the new year around this time is celebrated in many parts of South and South Asia . He looked at a wider perspective of this day of innocent joy and immense celebrations.
