Task Force Formed in Bangladesh to Deal With Financial Crisis

A Task Force was formed in Bangladesh to deal with the inadvertent impact of the financial crisis and global recession.

A meeting titled "The Impact of Ongoing Financial Crisis and Global Recession on Bangladesh Economy" was held in Dhaka.

Leaders of Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) said at the meeting that it is time to identify the initiatives necessary to protect the economy and the people from the inadvertent impact of the financial crisis and global recession.

Chairman of CPD Prof Rehman Sobhan acted as moderator of the program. President of FBCCI Anisul Haque, Coordinator of Nijera Kori, Khushi Kabir, CEO of Dhaka Stock Exchange Salahuddin Ahmed Khan, Chief Economist of Bangladesh Bank Dr Mustafa K Mujeri, President of Bankers Association of Bangladesh Kazi Mohammad Abdus Sattar, Former Finance Minister M Sayeduzzamen, Executive Director of CPD Prof Mustafizur Rahman, took part in the discussion.

In an interview with Voice of America, Dr. Mustafizur Rahman spoke about the Task Force and what they will do.
