Officials said killings in frontier shootouts and human trafficking are expected to dominate the crucial director general-level meeting. The talks have started with Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) director general Major General Major General Mainul Islam and his counterpart in Border Security Force (BSF) of India ML Kumawat leading their respective sides comprising 24-member and 18-member delegations at the Peelkhana headquarters of the BDR in Dhaka.


A spokesperson from BDR said killings of Bangladeshi civilians in the frontier villages will be on top of the BDR agenda at the meeting while the BSF is likely to highlight the issues of cross-border crimes including human trafficking and smuggling at the routine director general level meeting.
